Chicken Montajan

Chicken Montajan is a healthy meal. When I heard about this recipe, I became astonished. But I was determined to prepare this recipe. At last I became successful. It is very delicious and healthy meal. Mainly it is found in India and some parts of Asia. Some ingredients are required to prepare this healthy meal. The method of preparation of this recipe is given below;
2 × 1 kg (2 lb) chicken,
1 cup natural yogurt,
½ cup finely chopped onion,
1 tablespoon ground ginger,
1 teaspoon ground garlic,
1 tablespoon ground coriander,
1 teaspoon ground cumin,
1 teaspoon chilli powder,
1 tablespoon ground poppy seeds,
1 teaspoon ground aniseeds,
¼ teaspoon ground mace,
30 gm (1 oz) raisins,
60 gm (2 oz) almonds,
1 cup cooking oil,
Salt to taste.
1.      Cut the chicken into 8 pieces. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the onion, add all ingredients except the raisins and almonds.
2.      Cover and cook over moderate heat until most of the water has gone, add raisins.
3.      Fry the meat stirring constantly till gravy becomes thick and oil surfaces.
Serve the curry in a dish garnished with sliced almonds. Serve hot with bread and salad.
Yields 8 – 10 servings.
