Varn (Traditional konkani style)

1. Toor daal 1 cup
2. Coconut 1 cup
3. Cumin seeds(jeera) 1 tea spn
4. Turmeric a pinch
5. Pepper 6-7
6. Oil 1/2 tea spn
7. Tamarind juice or tamarind 1/2 tea spn
8. Salt

Cook toor daal with turmeric.
Heat oil and add jeera & pepper. When they start spluttering, remove from flame. Grind with coconut and tamarind.
Add cooked daal to ground masala, add salt & bring it to boil. Serve hot with rice.
